QUANTITIES FOR THINNING THE MIX

WATER : CEMENT ratio (by vol)= : 1

Volume of grout in AGITATOR = Cubic Feet

Volume of grout in LINES (previously measured when lines were first filled) Cubic Feet

Thinner water : cement ratio required : 1. This is used in the following calculations.

TOTAL VOLUME of grout to be thinned ( agitator + lines) = Cubic feet

The thinned mix can be obtained by adding the following quantity of water to the grout currently in the gear.

WATER to be added =Cubic Feet

Total volume after thinning =Cubic Feet

This water can be added in the agitator at any time after grouting of the previous hole is finished, even though the circulation line might not yet have been attached to the standpipe on the fresh hole. The control valve on the circulation line must remain closed until all the water has been added and the water has been absorbed into the mix.
